We are very proud of our restaurant at Hebron, it sits at the heart of what we believe in – being connected to the place in which we live, by serving the freshest, locally sourced ingredients with passion and flair. We cherish old recipes, forgotten techniques and Tannies who’ll share their secrets. The Restaurant is now fully licensed and offers a selection of the best local craft beers, wines and spirits. At the Padstal we continue a long mountaintop tradition of providing travellers with fresh local fruit & veg, jams & preserves, just squeezed orange juice, freshly baked bread – including our famous sourdough loaf, light eats and padkos. In season we will be selling locally grown flowers (Proteas, Pincushions & Geraldton Wax), Bettie Bok goats cheese, homemade sausages & cured meats… and the BEST marmalade, ever!!! A selection of freshly prepared light meals will be available daily. Stop in to sample what’s best from the area.
The tasting room on the farm offers four tastings: NieuwBrew Craft beer, Carmién Rooibos tea & Craft Gin and Piekenierskloof Wine Company (PKWC) wines. The beer we handle ourselves, the wine, gin and tea is expertly delivered by PKWC. You can pair tea with wine & funky flavours; craft beer with chips & house-made sauces or mayos; or opt for a 3 course wine & tea lunch pairing. View our Wine & Gin Tasting Menu | View our Beer Menu
We love catering for special occasions, anything from intimate dinner parties, to private business do’s and kids parties in Noah’s Park, through to weddings for 200 plus guests (we once catered a 5-course vegetarian Wedding in a camp site near the river). The Guesthouse is situated in our lovingly restored farm buildings and features six individually decorated rooms. Three of the rooms have views of the majestic Sneeuberg Mountain from the shaded verandah, and the remaining three open onto a secluded courtyard. The rooms are all decorated using family antiques, with a comfortable and rustic charm. Each room has a fridge, mini-bar and coffee/tea making facilities. The rooms are fitted with ceiling fans for the summer and panel heaters and rechargeable hot water bottles to keep the winter cold at bay. TripAdvisor Reviews
Hebron has a number of Self-Catering options available – from a Double room with kitchenette, to Family rooms with beds and bunks, and the Blomhuis Eco Cottage for larger groups, with straw bale construction and up-cycled fixtures and fittings. The Blomhuis is set amongst our export flower orchards with an amazing view of the mountains and Rooibos tea fields of the Piekenierskloof Pass. The sunsets viewed from here are spectacular! Augustine’s Veggie Garden
We are super proud of our veggie garden, run lovingly by Augustine, our specialist in perma-culture and all things green! We grow and use as much as we can in the restaurant and for the Citrusdal Kids Kitchen feeding programme, of which we are proudly a founding member.
Hebron is a working flower farm, with Geraldton Wax grown for the local and export market. Harvest begins in May and lasts through to the end of September. Flower colours range from purple to pink and white and bunches are available during season, to buy from the Farmstall and at the Farmers Market.
On the first Saturday of every month, we put up the bunting, pick our crunchiest veggies and bake our freshest breads, to join our fellow stallholders at the Citrusdal Farmers Market, hosted here on the farm. Come and join us for live local music, NieuwBrew craft beer tasting, eats, bakes, crafts & Piekenierskloof wines from the Tasting Room.
Having four kids ourselves, we’re very aware of how challenging travelling with young children can be! Noah’s Park is our purpose built play area, fully equipped for the little ones to run around like crazy, while you relax in the Rainbow Room tea garden overlooking the secure play area. We also cater for Birthday parties of all kinds. Drop us a mail if you’d like more info.
A new addition to farm life at Hebron are the 80 “Red heads”, our flock of ISA Brown laying hens. They are now firmly entrenched in their new coop, pecking away at surplus garden greens and local crawlies. Their wonderful eggs feature in all of our breakfasts and baked goods. We also sell them in the restaurant and at our monthly Farmers Market.
